The Ministry of Interior of Russia supports the activity of Friendly Runet Foundation

In the article «Electronic patrol: a protection system of cyberspace have been established in the Ministry of Interior of Russia» published  on 16.10.2009 in the «Russian newspaper», the Interior Minister Rashid Nurgaliev in particular has marked «… at the support of the Ministry of Interior, the hotline -Friendly Runet Foundation had been established and switched  in the structure of the International Association of Internet Hotlines INHOPE. Links to this hotline are placed on an official web-site of the Ministry of Interior of the Russian Federation».

«Citizens can report any information on the materials they found in the Internet with the sings of a child pornography, particularly to this hotline. Hundreds of closed sites with such criminal content placed in the Russian segment of the Internet and abroad — that are the impressive results of the activity of the hotline», — has marked Rashid Nurgaliev.

As he said, only the active cooperation of civil society institutions , official bodies, business and Internet community can counteract cyber threats. «It is possible to provide an efficient system of blocking the content and cutting a „harmful“ information from both children and teenagers, and also from adult citizens only by common efforts», — has told Nurgaliev.
